At the 56th Venice international art Biennale, established Portugal artist Joana Vasconcelos for the Swatch Pavilion created an amazing art installation – attractive artificial garden "garden of Eden" (Giardino dell' Eden). Now, Swatch and Joana Vasconcelos further artistic collaboration, has unveiled a unique artist special limited edition watch "simple." This watch is timeless and elegant tribute, tribute to craftsmanship, and extreme praise and compliments process, Swatch introduced up to now the first artist Special watches with hand-made elements.
In order to accomplish this unique project, Joana Vasconcelos from Portugal North of artisans were co-operation, these craftsmen are experts in old gold and silver filament technology. According to Joana's original manuscript, hand-build each Watch Gold Dial, this timepiece will be limited edition of 999 pieces. For this project, they have also developed a delicate filagree technology, to help them achieve their watches to create delicate and light. "I feel very excited about this project", says Joana Vasconcelos, "accept the invitation to create a Swatch of everyday is a challenge for me to watch. As an artist, most of my work is based on hand-craftsmanship, combined with industrial materials, creating a true "luxury"-that is, everyday products into high culture art. The design collaboration with Swatch watch is my work into everyday wear, so that everyone can wear all the time and experience, that makes me feel very happy. "
